Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure

Join Team Jaspers as we race to beat cancer on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 9:00 a.m. in Central Park. Registration is available for our alumni and friends at the Komen Web site Here. Once you create your log-in information, click on “join a team” and search Manhattan College . Meet at Manhattan College at 8:00 a.m., on the morning of the walk to pick up a team T-shirt and take the No. 1 subway train to 79th and Broadway. From there, we will walk to the park. Questions? Men's Retreat

The 17th annual reality retreat for men will be held at the Passionist Spiritual Center in Riverdale on Friday, Sept. 19-Sunday, Sept. 21. The founding purpose of the retreat is to bring together alumni and friends of the College for 36 hours to listen to gifted speakers and hear presentations based on a theme. This year's theme is gratitude. There are private rooms for each person, delicious meals and a placid environment that lends itself to contemplation, discussion and personal renewal. Jaspers Night at McFadden's

On Thursday, Sept. 25, Jaspers will gather in three McFadden's Saloon locations simultaneously for happy hour to network, reconnect and enjoy an evening of great company. Participating cities include New York, Boston and Washington, D.C. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drink specials will be available from 6:00-9:00 p.m.

Open House Brunch for Prospective Students

Alumni are welcome to bring college-bound high school and transfer students to attend a complimentary brunch hosted by our alumni society on Sunday, Oct. 26. Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers and brunch will be in the newly renovated Dante's Den in Thomas Hall at 11:00 a.m. Reservations are mandatory as we are limited in seating; no walk-ins are permitted . The open house provides a chance for prospective Jaspers to visit campus and meet representatives from student life and academic departments in Draddy Gymnasium for a fair at noon.

 

Hold the date! New York City Club Networking Reception

Thomas O'Malley '63, chairman of the Manhattan College board of trustees, will join alumni at the fall networking reception of the New York City Club on Thursday, Nov. 13. Hosted by UBS, the event is $40 per person and includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. Registration is required. More information about this event will be available shortly.

 

Alumni Honored by American Diabetes Association

ADA Picture

George Delaney '57 and John Spicer '71 were among a group of Westchester business leaders who were honored as “Fathers of the Year” by the Westchester Chapter of the American Diabetes Association and the Father's Day Council on June 12. Delaney was presented with the ADA's Distinguished Leadership Award, his second award. In 1983, he received the Westchester Leadership Award. Read.

 

 

Manhattan College Alumni Help Build Neighboring Campus

Since 1928, Manhattan College and the Ethical Cultural Fieldston School have been friendly neighbors along Manhattan College Parkway in Riverdale. Recently, Tishman Construction Corporation of New York completed a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified major campus expansion project for the Fieldston School, thanks in part to a construction team composed largely of Jasper alumni. Manhattan has partnered with Publishing Concepts Inc. (PCI) to update alumni information, which will be collected and published in a directory available for purchase in both printed and electronic format.
