Model UN Team Victorious in D.C.

The Manhattan College Model UN team traveled to Washington, D.C. on Oct. 29 to participate in the National Model United Nations – DC conference. Sixteen Manhattan College students represented Uganda and Venezuela on six committees: General Assembly First Committee (disarmament); General Assembly Third Committee (social and humanitarian); Security Council, United Nations Environment Programme, African Union and the Special Session on Children and Armed Conflict. The Uganda Delegation won one of three Outstanding Delegation awards (the highest one awarded). In addition, Chris Tucci ’11 and Brian Donovan ’10 won the outstanding position paper award in the Special Session on Children and Armed Conflict.
