College Funds 11 Research Grants
With student and faculty research on the rise at Manhattan, the College recently established the pilot Jasper Summer Research Scholars program to fund research grants in various disciplines. This summer, 11 undergraduates received grants on topics ranging from improving a modern-day medical brace design for elbow-related injuries to shortcomings in educational funding in the new South Africa. Manhattan College’s department of Physical Education and Human Performance was recently renamed the Department of Kinesiology (the study of human movement). The College welcomes authors Carol Gilligan and Lauren Weisberger, veteran and Olympian Melissa Stockwell, and television personality Michelle Beadle to campus this semester as part of its Women’s Lecture Series.
