Renowned Authors Visit Manhattan College
Acclaimed novelist and short story writer Mary Gaitskill kicked off Manhattan College's Major Authors Reading Series (M.A.R.S.) on Sept. 23. The lineup continues into the fall with a visit from memoirist, novelist, poet and editor Jill Bialosky, who is best known for her memoir History of a Suicide: My Sister's Unfinished Life, on Oct. 8, and distinguished poet and critic, Alicia Ostriker on Nov. 14. Jaspers' Baseball Team Runs to Support Michael's Cause
On Sept. 22, the Manhattan College baseball team participated in a 5K run on Staten Island in support of Michael's Cause, named for Michael Capolongo, a seven-year-old boy from Staten Island, who was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Manhattan Picked Atop MAAC Men's Basketball Preseason Poll
The Manhattan College men's basketball team was chosen first in the 2013-14 MAAC preseason poll, selected by the league's 11 head coaches. The Jaspers received 10 first-place votes, on their way to being selected atop the preseason poll for the first time since 2004. READ MORE»

Elizabeth Weber Named Women's Lacrosse Head Coach
Elizabeth Weber was named the new head women's lacrosse coach on Sept. 11. Weber comes to Manhattan after serving as the head coach at Holy Family University, where she led the Tigers to a 27-9 record and two consecutive conference championships in two seasons. READ MORE»
