Mark Pottinger, Ph.D., associate professor of music, visual and performing arts, is one of 23 recipients of the Berlin Prize, a semester-long fellowship in Berlin, Germany for the 2016-17 academic year. Pottinger is the first Manhattan College faculty member to receive a Berlin Prize.

Sixty Years Ago, Remembering Lou Jones's Gold Medal
At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Manhattan College is represented by three alumni – Paddy McGrath ’95, Aliann Pompey ’99 and Joe Ryan ’81. In 1956, Lou Jones '54 collected a gold medal for the United States, continuing a Jasper Olympics tradition that extends to the present.

The College added two members to its Board of Trustees: John Desmarais '85, the founding partner of Desmarais LLP, a New York intellectual property firm, and James Motherway '83, a managing director and global head of audit at BlackRock, Inc., a global investment management firm based in New York.

Brennan O'Donnell Appointed President of MAAC Council
