Reunion Weekend 2013

Thank you to the wonderful group of Jaspers who returned to Riverdale on May 31 – June 2 for the 144th reunion celebration! The weekend kicked off Friday with the Golden Anniversary cruise, Silver Anniversary dinner and young alumni reception. On Saturday, the fun continued with a variety of events, including the Class of 1963 brunch, BBQ on the Memorial Hall courtyard, performing arts showcase, wine tasting and a Reunion Vigil Mass. The highlight of the weekend was the celebration dinner under the tent on the Quad, followed by dessert and dancing in Smith Auditorium. Jersey Shore Luncheon

Alumni and friends living in or visiting the Jersey Shore are invited to attend the annual luncheon on Friday, July 19 at 12 p.m at Spring Lake Manor (415 Route 71, Spring Lake, NJ). The luncheon, hosted by Bill Harkins ’67, is $30 per person and includes a sit-down lunch including salad, a choice of four entrees, dessert and a glass of beer or wine. REGISTER»

Construction Industry Golf Tournament

On Monday, July 22, the 16th annual Construction Industry Golf Tournament will take place at Leewood Golf Club (1 Leewood Drive, Eastchester, NY). The tournament is sponsored by the Manhattan College Alumni Society and tournament earnings benefit the civil engineering department. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and shotgun tee-off will be at 12 p.m. Visit the Construction Industry webpage for more information about the tournament and to register.

Saratoga Day at the Races

The Manhattan College Alumni Society and Capital District Alumni Club invite alumni and guests to a day at the races followed by a dinner reception on Friday, July 26. The day will kick off at 1:30 p.m. at the Saratoga Race Course (267 Union Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY) for lunch in the Turf Terrace. Later in the evening, guests are welcomed to The Inn at Saratoga (231 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY) for cocktails, dinner and live entertainment.

Track Only: $70 per person (includes admission to the track, Turf Terrace, luncheon and two cocktails)

Sail on San Francisco Bay

On Saturday, July 27, Jaspers are invited to meet at Berkeley Yacht Club for an afternoon sail around the bay. Two sailings will be offered at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. (please arrive at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively, to allow time to distribute life jackets). Two boats with skippers have been arranged for the group, and rides will last about an hour and a half. Lunch will also be provided. Each boat has a six person capacity. Please note that no children under the age of 6 are allowed. Before or after sailing, guests are welcome to hang out at the yacht club bar. This event is offered at no cost to those who attend aside from beverages purchased directly from the yacht club.

Mets v. Rockies Alumni Outing

On Wednesday, Aug. 7, join us at Citi Field as the Mets face the Colorado Rockies at 7:10 p.m. The cost of the “loaded ticket” is $75 and includes admission to the park and seating in the Shea Bridge Terrace (exclusively for Manhattan College alumni and guests), as well as a $30 value to use anywhere in the stadium (food, beverages, merchandise, etc.). Staten Island Yankees Outing
The Staten Island Alumni Club invites alumni to watch the Staten Island Yankees take on the Lowell Spinners on Saturday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. Enjoy the game from a luxury suite with outdoor seating. Manhattan College alumni will be welcomed on the centerfield high definition LED board and the game will be followed by fireworks. Tickets are limited and cost $35 each.

A Day in the Hamptons

Alumni, family and friends living on or visiting Long Island are invited to join the College for an afternoon cocktail reception at the Southampton Publick House (40 Bowden Square, Southampton, NY) from 3 – 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10. A Day at Monmouth Park Racetrack

The Jersey Shore Alumni Club invites you to join the College for a day at the races at the Monmouth Park Racetrack (175 Oceanport Avenue, Oceanport, NJ) on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 12 p.m. The cost of the event is $35 per person and includes admission to the clubhouse, official track program, private trackside seating in the Turf Club (air conditioned) and a buffet luncheon, hosted by Jim O'Brien ’60 & Ken Kelly ’54. Hudson Valley Shakespeare Outing

Alumni and guests are invited to join the College on the breathtaking Boscobel grounds to experience Shakespeare's production of All’s Well That Ends Well. Enjoy a late summer evening and dine alfresco while overlooking the Hudson River and West Point on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Tickets are $45 (including picnic and performance) and will be available at the will call desk for registered guests.

Manhattan's gathering will take place prior to the performance – the grounds to Boscobel open at about 5 p.m. and the picnic will begin at about 5:20 p.m. Guests are typically asked to begin cleaning their areas by 6:30 p.m. and the performance starts promptly at 7 p.m. REGISTER»
