Ewen MacAskill to Discuss Edward Snowden on Oct. 17

Pulitzer Prize winner Ewen MacAskill will deliver the annual Ambassador Charles A. Gargano Lecture, “The Snowden Affair,” on Tuesday, October 17 at 4 p.m. The event will be held in the fifth floor Great Room of the Kelly Commons. It is free and open to the public.

Open House Set for Sunday, Oct. 29

The College will hold its annual fall Open House on campus on Sunday, Oct. 29 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. All are also welcome to attend Mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Chapel of De La Salle and His Brothers.

James Patterson '69 Provides Scholarships to 20 Students

For the sixth consecutive year, best-selling author James Patterson ’69 awarded 20 Manhattan College students a total of $110,000 in academic scholarships. The scholarship for the 2017-18 academic year was given to 10 juniors and 10 seniors from the Schools of Liberal Arts, Business, Education and Health, Engineering, and Science.

Two Students Use NSF Grants to Conduct Research

Danielle Baik and Anthony DePinho, two juniors in the School of Science, each received a summer research grant under the National Science Foundation (NSF) Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program.

Bollert Receives Costello Excellence in Teaching Award

David Bollert, Ph.D., a member of the Philosophy department’s faculty since 2005, received the fifth annual Costello Excellence in Teaching Award. In nominating Bollert, one student wrote: “After each of his classes, I would find myself in a state of pure wonder. His work was both intellectually and personally challenging.”

Women's Cross Country Wins First Met Title Since 1986

On their home course at Van Cortlandt Park, the Manhattan College women defeated Fordham, Rutgers, Iona and seven other local schools to capture its first Metropolitan Championship since 1986.
